Registered Behavior Technician

Responsibilities and Duties:

Behavior Intervention & Therapy

  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to target specific behaviors under the supervision of a BCBA.
  • Provide one-on-one support to clients in various environments, including home, school, and community settings.
  • Teach social, communication, and daily living skills to individuals based on their needs and goals.
  • Reinforce positive behaviors using evidence-based strategies and techniques.

Data Collection & Reporting

  • Collect accurate data on client behaviors, skills, and progress during therapy sessions.
  • Maintain up-to-date records on client behavior and document observations.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to the BCBA, highlighting any significant changes in client behavior or progress.
  • Ensure data is collected in a consistent and systematic manner according to behavioral protocols.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with families, caregivers, and other team members to ensure consistency in intervention and support.
  • Provide regular feedback and updates to families on the client’s progress and areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with the BCBA to make adjustments to the behavior plan as necessary.
  • Attend team meetings, supervision sessions, and training as required.

Client Care & Support

  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients at all times.
  • Assist in implementing crisis intervention strategies when needed, following protocols for safety.
  • Promote social inclusion and independence by encouraging clients to participate in community activities.
  • Support clients with transitioning between tasks, activities, and environments.

Professional Development & Compliance

  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with behavior analysis practices.
  • Maintain RBT certification and comply with professional standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and reliability in all interactions and job duties.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Active RBT certification is required.
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for helping others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Salary: $20 - $25 per hour (based on experience)
