Experienced High School Tutor (ACT/SAT Prep, High School Math, & Chemistry)

Job Type: Part-time, Flexible Hours (After School & Weekends)
Location: In-Person & Virtual (Microsoft Teams with Whiteboard)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated tutor with expertise in ACT/SAT test preparation and high school-level math and science subjects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in one or more of the following subjects: Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Chemistry. They must be able to communicate complex concepts clearly, simplify challenging topics, and adapt their teaching methods to suit each student’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in specified subjects.
  • Break down difficult concepts into easy-to-understand lessons.
  • Assist students in preparing for the ACT/SAT, including test-taking strategies.
  • Utilize a whiteboard on Microsoft Teams for effective virtual instruction.
  • Be punctual, prepared, and organized for each session.
  • Track student progress and provide feedback to students and/or parents.
  • Offer follow-up support and additional resources as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience tutoring high school students in ACT/SAT prep, math, or chemistry.
  • Strong knowledge of Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and/or Chemistry.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Reliable and able to commit to scheduled tutoring sessions.
  • Experience with virtual teaching tools, especially Microsoft Teams and whiteboards.
  • Passion for helping students succeed academically.

Schedule & Availability:

  • Must be available for tutoring sessions on weekends and after school.
  • Able to accommodate both in-person and virtual sessions.
