
Polymer Science Intern
Overview
We are seeking a Polymer Science Intern to support research and development efforts related to polymer synthesis, processing, and material characterization. This internship offers hands-on experience in a lab setting, providing exposure to real-world polymer applications, fiber development, and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to apply classroom knowledge to practical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and test samples for characterization of polymers and fibers.
- Assist in polymer synthesis, compounding, and fiber processing experiments.
- Analyze experimental data and report findings to the R&D team.
- Maintain excellent laboratory records and write reports as required.
- Work collaboratively on innovative ideas and projects within groups.
- Follow safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.
Preferred Qualifications/Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of polymer chemistry and material characterization techniques.
- Hands-on lab experience (coursework, research, or previous internships).
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Excellent mathematical and statistical analysis skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and procedures.
- Communicates effectively orally and in writing in a positive manner.
- Comfortable presenting technical results to a range of audiences.
- Strong ability to work within a team structure.
- Individual must be a US citizen or Green card holder.
