Zoning Administrator

General Summary

The Zoning Administrator is the primary point of contact for property owners seeking zoning information. They are responsible for reviewing zoning permit applications, zoning plans, business tax receipts, certificates of use, and other related documents. The role also involves conducting zoning inspections and offering guidance to professionals and the public on zoning code matters. The position works under the supervision of the Principal Planner and does not have supervisory duties.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Planning/Public Administration, or related field. Related experience may substitute educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • At least two (2) years of prior experience in in zoning, code compliance architecture or similar fields related work.

Minimum Qualifications: Licenses and Certifications

  • Must hold a valid State of Florida driver’s license, and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
