Hospitality Supervisor

Summary

The Hospitality Supervisor oversees smooth operation of the hospitality department including staffing, set-up, service, and breakdown of internal meetings and events and stocking and service of cafés, hoteling offices, and conference rooms. This position acts as point of contact for the operations of the hospitality department.

 

Essential Functions

  • Works with Office Services Manager to train and monitor hospitality staff
  • Consults and coordinates with Events Manager to plan details such as room layout, number of persons expected, display space desired, food service schedule, and room refresh timing
  • Manages internal function details and related activities to ensure that program requirements are satisfied, and exceptional client service is delivered. Anticipate and handle complaints and/or problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Responsible for coordination and facilitation of correct set up and break down of conference room functions, as specified, including moving/setting tables, chairs, podiums, and other equipment as specified, buffet and beverage set up and bar set up, etc.
  • Performs walk through of all floors to inspect and ensure that all common spaces, hoteling offices, and conference rooms are clean and stocked
  • Responsible for coordination of inventory and stocking of all conference rooms, hoteling offices, and common areas
  • Works with Events Manager to oversee on-site events, addressing issues as they arise, and ensuring smooth operation
  • Provides oversight and management of firm’s room booking software
  • Punctual and regular attendance
  • Maintains professional demeanor
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Basic understanding of or the ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Experience with or ability to learn and manage firm’s room booking software
  • Ability identify and solve problems
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Working knowledge of banquet/catering food and beverage services, policies and best practices
  • Excellent supervisory skills

 

Supervisory Role

This position supervisors the hospitality staff and oversees all hospitality operations, including but not limited to the daily work schedules of the hospitality department staff.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Must be able to traverse the kitchens, cafes and conference rooms floors quickly and efficiently

Physically able to maintain inventory and cleanliness

Ability to load and unload dishwashers at and below counter height

Ability to lift overhead

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility in start and end times.  

 

Early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 2 years supervisory/managerial experience

Minimum of 4 years related experience

 

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience in law firm or professional services environment

Experience in hotel conference and meeting room management

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age to handle alcoholic beverages
