Warehouse Production Manager- Commercial Wood Doors
Position Overview:
We are in search of a talented Warehouse Production Manager with extensive woodworking experience to lead our manufacturing operations for commercial wood doors in our warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and machinery, coupled with strong leadership skills to drive productivity, organize people and activities efficiently, and uphold quality standards. In addition to operating machinery and completing orders, this position will be responsible for managing and leading the warehouse team, plans and assigns work, onboarding staff, and encouraging teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the production process for commercial wood doors within the warehouse facility, including material preparation, assembly, and finishing
- Utilize woodworking expertise to ensure the highest quality craftsmanship in every stage of production, adhering to industry standards and customer specifications
- Develop and implement efficient production workflows, optimizing resource utilization and minimizing lead times while maintaining product quality
- Lead and mentor warehouse production staff, providing guidance, training (including onboarding), and support to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Coordinate with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and quality assurance to streamline operations and meet production targets
- Conduct regular inspections of woodworking equipment and facilities, ensuring proper maintenance and adherence to safety protocols
- Collaborate with the sales/order team to interpret technical drawings and machining sheets, ensuring accurate execution of product specifications
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, implementing inventory management strategies to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
- Monitor and review production activities, identifying trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement, and share insights through informal reports and discussions
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in woodworking, with a strong background in carpentry, joinery, or wood products production
- Proven track record of leadership and management in a woodworking or manufacturing environment
- Deep knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and machinery, including saws, routers, planers, and sanders; experience with KVAL machines is a plus
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and resolve production challenges effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with Quickbooks inventory tools is a plus
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality control standards
