Job Summary:
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team for a one-year underwriting trainee program. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals looking to start a career in underwriting. As a trainee, you will receive comprehensive training on risk assessment, policy evaluation, and underwriting principles to develop the skills needed to make informed decisions on insurance applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in structured training programs to learn:
- Insurance fundamentals
- General underwriting principles, guidelines, and procedures.
- Learn and apply company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards.
- Develop an understanding of different insurance products and market trends.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless underwriting operations.
Trainees will work within our various Underwriting disciplines on an 11-week rotating basis and will assist with the following:
- Assist underwriters in evaluating insurance applications, financial documents, and risk factors.
- Analyze data to determine policy eligibility, coverage amounts, and pricing.
- Work closely with senior underwriters, agents, and clients to gather necessary information.
- Support the preparation of reports and documentation for underwriting decisions.
- Assist in reviewing and processing policy renewals and endorsements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, insurance, risk management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Prior internship or work experience in insurance, finance, or a related field is a plus but not required.
