We are also long-term investors in our team, targeting top-quartile performance and offering top-quartile compensation—including attractive benefits and carried interest for all employees.
Location: Bentonville, Arkansas; in-office 4 days/week August to May

About You:
You are a fast learner who is able to quickly understand new scientific or medical concepts and distill them to their commercial implications. You also have a rigorously quantitative mindset and unusually high attention to detail. You are a student of financial markets and investing who is relentless about perfecting your skills. You are an excellent communicator who can gain and keep the trust and confidence of colleagues, superiors, and the leaders of the private and public companies in which we invest.
We are limiting this position to candidates who have completed a training program at an investment bank or consulting firm and have at least two years of pharma or biotech-related work experience. While formal PhD or MD scientific or medical training is a plus, it is not required. We will only hire highly skilled individuals who are also great colleagues. Be ready for a case study.
Responsibilities:
We're looking for an Investment Associate who can anchor an investment diligence process—from initial calls with investment targets and key opinion leaders, to detailed data room review, financial modeling, investment memo writing, and post-close monitoring—in collaboration with senior investors on our team. We have a well-defined investment process honed across dozens of investments and are looking for more bandwidth to help us prosecute venture and public investments in cutting-edge medicines. The matrix below broadly illustrates the scope of your duties in order of importance. The more functions with which you are familiar, the better; but even if you're an expert in just one key area, don't hesitate to apply. Your financial modeling skills, attention to detail and ability to learn quickly will be what truly matters at SymBiosis.
Financial Modeling & Valuation
Strong foundation in investment analysis. Able to quickly and accurately build detailed three-statement financial models to forecast the cash flow and future value of companies across multiple scenarios. Investment Research
Able to quickly absorb scientific and medical data and literature, identify key research questions, and extract information from a variety of sources to support investment decisions.
Writing
Able to explain highly technical scientific and medical concepts and their implications for an investment thesis in clear and concise prose.
Biopharma Development
Clear understanding of the main phases of biopharma development, from target identification to candidate selection, IND, clinical, regulatory, and commercial.
