Subpoena Clerk

The Subpoena Clerk prepares, issues, and tracks subpoenas for records and depositions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. This role manages document retrieval, maintains case files, and coordinates with attorneys, legal staff, and external parties to facilitate timely record production while upholding confidentiality and court regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Subpoena Preparation & Processing: Draft, issue, and coordinate the service of subpoenas for records and depositions while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Record Management: Track, organize, and process subpoenaed documents, ensuring timely receipt and attorney access.
• Communication & Coordination: Liaise with attorneys, legal staff, record custodians, and process servers to facilitate document retrieval and resolve compliance issues.
• Compliance & Confidentiality: Ensure adherence to court rules, HIPAA, and privacy regulations while handling sensitive information securely.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience handling subpoenas in a law firm environment.
• Strong knowledge of subpoena procedures, legal terminology, and court rules.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and records-related privacy regulations.
• Experience working with process servers and record retrieval vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal and external parties.
