Intern (Accounting)

City of Temple Terrace

SALARY: $18.50 per hour

POSITION: Intern (Accounting)

POSITION NO: 908

DEPT: Finance

 This is an advanced paid internship that performs a variety of administrative and support functions within the department for the duration of one semester (21 weeks). The intern will work closely with experienced professionals to gain valuable insights and contribute to real-world projects. 

**Must have successfully completed a minimum of 9 credit hours of Accounting AND 6 credit hours of Business courses at an accredited college or university.**

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

•         High degree of organizational skill and problem-solving ability; specifically, the ability to work as a self-starter.

•         Ability to execute accurately at a high level without excess supervision.

•         Ability to prioritize/execute to achieve desired company and project goals with prudence and sense of urgency.

•    Excellent telephone etiquette, communication and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

•         Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

•         Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Training and Experience

•          Must have successfully completed a minimum of 9 credit hours of Accounting AND 6 credit hours of Business courses at an accredited college or university.
 

•         Enrollment in an accredited college or university and pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree program in a related field of study preferred.

•          Accounting Majors encouraged to apply.

Special Requirements

·          Valid Florida driver's license.

Copies of required certification(s) must be submitted with the application.
