Internship Opportunity// Summer 2025
The Public and International Affairs Office of The Church of Jesus Christof Latter-day Saints is seeking interns for the 2025 summer semester. The internship is full-time and will last approximately 14 weeks. The internship is paid. Preference will be given to current undergraduate students already accepted into an international studies, political science, or communication program at an accredited university, although students in other programs are also encouraged to apply. Interns should be worthy to hold a temple recommend.
Overview of the Office
The Office of Public and International Affairs in Washington, D.C. is a satellite office of the Church Communication Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The three goals of the office are to increase awareness, provide answers, and build bridges with other organizations and people.
Each year, the office hosts events to strengthen relationships with ambassadors to the United States and other diplomats to increase awareness and understanding of the Church. Some of these events include the Festival of Lights celebration at the Washington, D.C. Temple, the Western Family Picnic, and a luncheon for ambassadors' wives. Additionally, the office monitors legislation and other events on Capitol Hill and elsewhere that may significantly affect the Church and its members.
Intern Duties and Responsibilities
Depending on his/her skills and interests, an intern assists with planning, execution, and follow-up for events. He/she should demonstrate outstanding skills in writing, creativity, research, problem solving, interpersonal communication, and detailed event planning. He/she will also be expected to help with office tasks, running errands, writing letters, assisting with mass mailings, reception duties, etc.
Qualifications
Applicants should be pursuing a degree, be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, and must be able to accept and follow directions. Interns will be expected to wear business attire, act professionally, and meet the internship criteria of their sponsoring university, if applicable.
