The 2025 Summer Associate Program provides high-achieving undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real estate development, with the potential for a full-time position upon graduation.

About the Program

This internship offers real-world exposure to the real estate development process, from site acquisition and financing to construction and asset management. Participants will work closely with industry professionals and develop critical skills in market research, financial modeling, and project management.

What You’ll Do

As a Real Estate Development Summer Associate, you will:
✅ Conduct industry research on acquisitions, due diligence, entitlements, and market analysis.
✅ Develop sources and uses budgets for active real estate projects.
✅ Work on financial pro formas and development budgets to analyze project feasibility.
✅ Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations for fundraising and investor pitches.
✅ Gather and organize project documentation for acquisitions, permitting, and construction.
✅ Support financing applications and work with lenders, attorneys, and project teams.
✅ Solicit services from consultants, contractors, and vendors for development projects.
✅ Develop or update project schedules using industry-standard scheduling tools.
✅ Research data for retail space planning within mixed-use developments.
✅ Contribute to RFP responses for development opportunities.
✅ Attend project progress meetings to understand real-time project management challenges.
✅ Participate in community outreach and volunteer events as part of Banneker Ventures’ social impact initiatives.

End-of-Summer Capstone Presentation

At the conclusion of the program, Summer Associates will present a comprehensive project summary, covering:

📌 Career impact and future aspirations in real estate development.
