Start Date: Pending

Position: 30-40 hrs/ week for at least 10 weeks (General office hours Mon. - Fri. Occasional evening and weekend work as needed.) Located in Portland, OR office. 

Compensation: $21/ hr

Job Description:

This role supports the Project Managers and CEO with professional-level assignments and coordinates work within the areas: establish and maintain schedules, calendars, and priorities; prepare correspondence and reports; review and research operating procedures and problems; and develop solutions and/or recommendations. Duties include internal and external activities and special project coordination. This position also supports the team to ensure projects are completed promptly.

Responsibilities and Tasks May Include:

  • Support project leads or CEO in all phases of client projects, such as:
    • Gathering research and background information for projects.
    • Writing and editing proposals and reports in English
    • Translating English into culturally accurate Spanish content 
    • Active participation supporting focus groups and round table discussions
    • Planning and set-up of live and virtual events
    • Participating in client meetings
    • Collaborating with co-workers in creative brainstorming
  • Active management of projects and deadlines to ensure tasks are done on time
  • Assist in the development of scripts in Spanish.
  • Maintain documents such as calendars and projects status trackers
  • Receive and forward correspondence to appropriate parties on time; this includes, but is not limited to, emails, letters, messages, mail, and phone calls
  • Maintain constant communication with all parties involved with projects, reports, invoices, meetings, etc. 
  • Generate documents such as agendas and meeting notes
  • Participate in Project and Event Management meetings and assist with meeting preparation and follow-up.  
  • Social media support for projects
  • Basic graphic design work (possible)
  • Support other administrative duties, as needed


 

Education And/Or Experience

  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/ English), preferred.
  • Experience in a start-up environment, preferred.
  • Previous project or event management experience, preferred.


 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

  • Passionate about changing the world, committed to social justice
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and demands in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to translate English to Spanish in a culturally accurate way
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of organization, flexibility, and focus, often under tight deadlines
  • Ability to use good judgment, personal initiative, and discretion to perform complex work with particular attention to detail
  • Ability to reliably and effectively interact with individuals at all levels, internal and external to the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when performing assignments that are sensitive and confidential
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (including grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills) with the ability to assist in all forms of business correspondence
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Data entry skills
  • Equally comfortable with proposing ideas/solutions and accepting direction from LMS staff
