Grant Writing Intern – Construction for Change (CfC)

Location: Remote (with occasional in-person meetings in [Seattle/Kirkland, WA])
Commitment: Part-time, 10-15 hours per week

Compensation: Unpaid (college credit available, if applicable)
Duration: March, 2025 – [TBD] (flexible based on availability)

About Construction for Change

Construction for Change (CfC) is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing access to quality infrastructure in under-resourced communities in the Pacific Northwest and around the world. We partner with nonprofits, communities, and corporate sponsors to design and build schools, hospitals, and community centers that meet critical needs, empower people and create a lasting impact in the communities we serve.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Grant Writing Intern to support our fundraising efforts by researching, writing, and editing grant proposals. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student interested in business proposal writing, nonprofit development, fundraising, or communications to gain hands-on experience in the grant-writing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research prospective grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with CfC’s mission.
  • Assist in writing and editing compelling grant proposals and reports.
  • Maintain and update a grants database, tracking deadlines, submissions, and funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the development team to gather relevant project data, impact stories, and financials for proposals.
  • Help draft donor communication materials, including thank-you letters and impact updates.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (preferred fields: English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, or related studies).
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Interest in writing, fundraising, nonprofit work, philanthropy, or international development is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit communications is a plus but not required.
