Graphic Design, Marketing & Communications Intern

BERK Consulting is seeking a Graphic Design, Marketing & Communications Intern to support our team in:

• Designing and formatting proposals
• Graphic and information design for project deliverables
• Website maintenance
• Administrative support as needed

This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented individual interested in visual storytelling, digital marketing, information hierarchy, and effective communication.

The intern will collaborate with consultants, planners, and policy experts to develop high-quality proposals, reports, presentations, and marketing materials while assisting with procurement processes and office coordination tasks (e.g., scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, and prepping materials for project teams).

Job Responsibilities

As a Graphic Design, Marketing & Communications Intern, you will:

• Work closely with professionals in consulting, public policy, procurement, and marketing.
• Build a portfolio of real-world projects, including reports, presentations, proposals, and graphics.
• Apply graphic design and communication skills to support procurement, business development, and project efforts.
• Gain experience in website management, procurement tracking, and marketing strategy.
• Participate in networking and mentorship opportunities within the firm.
• Provide general office support to a team of 30 consultants.

Employment Details

• Location: Seattle, Washington (Hybrid: Remote & In-Person)
• Residency Requirement: Must reside in Washington State
• Start Date: Flexible between Spring 2025 and Summer 2025
• Duration: 3 to 6 months (with possibility of extension)
• Compensation: $25/hour
• Hours: 10-35 hours/week (depending on availability)

Work Environment:

• Mostly in-person role with some remote work opportunities later in the internship.
• Expected to work 1-2 days a week from the downtown Seattle office.

Qualifications:

Education

• Open to current and recent college students and graduate students in:
  • Graphic design
  • Marketing
  • Communications
  • Procurement
  • Business administration
  • Digital media
  • Related fields

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, or similar).
• Strong layout, typography, and branding skills.
• Interest in procurement coordination, proposal development, and content marketing.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for proposal formatting and document organization.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred but Not Required)

• Experience with procurement tracking tools or contract management.
• Knowledge of RFP submission processes and compliance requirements.
• Experience with data visualization and infographic design.
