Revenue Recovery Supervisor
We are an established out-of-network medical billing company located in New Hyde Park and Merrick, Long Island. We are seeking an experienced Revenue Recovery Supervisor to oversee our aged claims team. The ideal candidate will lead this newly formed team on overdue claims and ensure compliance with the write off protocols.
This position oversees the out-of-network medical billing operations, ensuring maximum reimbursement for healthcare services rendered to patients with non-contracted insurance plans. This role involves managing a team of billing specialists, implementing best practices for claims submissio
n and appeals, and ensuring compliance with payer regulations. The supervisor works closely with payers, healthcare providers, and internal departments to streamline processes, reduce denials, and enhance revenue recovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the billing aged claims team, providing training, performance evaluations, and support to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Billing Oversight: Ensure clean up and submission of aged claims to insurance companies.
- Collections Management: Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, implement collection strategies, and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding balances and recovery of old claims.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, coding standards (e.g., ICD-10, CPT), and payer guidelines to minimize compliance risks.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze A/R reports, identifying trends, collection performance metrics, and areas for improvement; present findings to management.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance billing processes and revenue cycle efficiency and implement best practices.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal billing team and offshore teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding for billing purposes
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or higher required
- 3+ years of experience in out of network medical billing, claims recovery and/or revenue cycle management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience managing a team in a medical billing or revenue cycle setting
- Strong knowledge of medical billing regulations, coding, and reimbursement processes
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with patients, insurance companies, and team members.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
