Job Title: Intervention Specialist Teacher (Mild/Moderate)

Job Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated teacher to join our educational team. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive and productive learning environment, planning and delivering engaging lessons, and providing individualized support to students. The ideal candidate will foster a love for learning and help students develop the skills necessary for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning by using effective classroom management techniques.
  • Student Assessment: Regularly assess student progress through tests, quizzes, projects, and observations, providing constructive feedback.
  • Instructional Support: Provide differentiated instruction and support to students with varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Student Engagement: Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture, encouraging active participation and promoting students’ self-confidence and motivation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with fellow teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students' academic and personal development.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on best teaching practices, participate in training sessions, and engage in continuous learning to improve teaching skills.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and assessments.
  • Extra-Curricular Participation: Be willing to support and participate in extracurricular activities, including field trips, school events, or after-school programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Ohio Teaching license in the appropriate teaching area.
  • Strong understanding of child development, classroom management techniques, and educational strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students from different backgrounds.
  • Proficient in using technology to support teaching and learning.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with others.

Work Environment:

  • Classroom environment with occasional outdoor activities (field trips, events, etc.).
  • Interaction with students, parents, colleagues, and school administrators.
  • Contract and work year will be in accordance with the negotiated contract between the Oregon City Schools and the Oregon Federation of Teachers.
