Assistant Superintendent - K-12 Public School

The Salida School district seeks an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent and Board of Education in ensuring high-quality curriculum and instructional programs. The individual will report directly to the Superintendent. The individual will collaborate with building principals to provide a guaranteed and viable curriculum for all preschool through 12th-grade students. The position will focus on developing certified faculty, including professional development, licensure, mentoring, curriculum adoption, and pedagogical best practices. This individual will work closely with principals to ensure the faculty offers quality lesson plans and effectively uses instructional minutes. This individual will oversee the district-certified staff evaluation system. Previous building principal experience is required. The individual must ensure all state-level reports and data are compliant and timely. The individual will implement all state testing and all local assessments to monitor students' performance, keeping the Board of Education informed. The individual will oversee the implementation of all special populations, including Culturally and Linguistically Diverse, Alternative Education, Special Education, and Gifted and Talented. If the Superintendent is unavailable, the assistant Superintendent will perform executive decision-making. This position requires a high degree of collaborative communication and leadership. It also requires substantial organizational and time management skills. Written reports require a skill set that allows for efficiency and accessibility. A high level of autonomy is expected, with equal amounts of self-management.
