Community Engagement Manager (Fundraising and Development)
Summary of Responsibilities
The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and cultivating community relationships to advance the organization’s mission, goals and financial sustainability. The individual is responsible for executing fundraising strategies, recognizing donors, seeking donations, sponsorships and in-kind gifts, and identifying new opportunities for philanthropic support.
Responsibilities:
1. Donor Relations
· Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with donors, sponsors and stakeholders, to strengthen engagement and financial support.
· Draft and distribute donor acknowledgment letters, emails, videos within three business days of gift receipt.
· Coordinate donor recognition initiatives.
· Prepare annual end of year gift acknowledgements.
2. Fundraising and Development
· Coordinate donation campaigns such as end of year, Tyler Gives, and East Texas Giving Day.
· Develop targeted lists for donations and campaigns as assigned.
· Maintain knowledge of industry trends in nonprofit donations and fundraising.
· Identify new and innovative funding opportunities.
3. Corporate Partnerships
· Identify and cultivate new corporate donations, sponsorships, and partnerships and expand upon existing ones.
· Promote organizational initiatives to area businesses to enhance corporate support.
4. Organizational Events
· Actively market and promote special events.
· Manage procurement of auction donations for annual fundraising event.
· Manage aspects of other special events as assigned.
· Engage volunteers in assigned areas for fundraising events.
5. Community Engagement
· Represent the organization at community events, fairs, meetings, and other venues.
· Support the Community Engagement Director with volunteer recruiting, engagement and training as needed.
6. Administrative and Data Management
· Manage donor database and track analytics and trends.
· Regularly review and update donor information for accuracy.
· Manage donation platform and generate monthly reports.
· Analyze fundraising performance and provide regular reports to management.
· Record and acknowledge all donations in a timely and accurate manner.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Sales, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Psychology or related field or equivalent training and experience.
· Minimum of three years of applicable experience in related role.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and the ability to generate innovative ideas, implement, and follow through.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, mail-merge, donation platforms, and databases.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Must be at least 21 years of age.
· Must pass criminal background checks and retain clear checks.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
· Passion for the organization’s mission and commitment to positively impacting the community.
· Ability to maintain confidential information.
· Must have reliable transportation with ability to travel throughout Smith, Van Zandt and Wood Counties as needed.
· Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs. and set up and disassemble equipment for events.
