Spring Semester: Student Success & Program Intern
15-20 hours per a week
Are you interested in supporting student experiences and building community? Do you like organizing events? We seek a dynamic engagement intern to work directly with students, faculty, and staff to design and implement a summer student community. In this role, you will help to plan and implement programming, shape student experiences open doors to new experiences for participants in Pittsburgh, and work with a team hosting online learning experiences with thousands around the world.
Who We Are: The Robotics Institute Summer Scholars (RISS) is an undergraduate research learning community with multiple stakeholders and events aimed at increasing access and opportunities in robotics & AI. We will welcome students from many different nations and backgrounds to learn, explore robotics, and have fun in Pittsburgh this summer.
Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes
- Support the design and implementation of events and student information sessions
- Onboard Summer Scholars, completing necessary filing and advocating for student needs through program administration
- Refine and revise written program materials
- Collect and organize data related to the program
- Use automated registration and communications systems
- Assist in the planning and coordination of events to celebrate community, build connections, and thank program sponsors and mentors.
Desired Skills
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented team player
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experienced user of standard office software including Google Suite
- Interest in working with others and creating supportive, positive learning environments
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Interns will receive $16 per hour
