Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager, Operations Division, this position provides a high level of management of various programs and supervision of staff that leads to the success of the California Prison Industry Authority (CALPIA). This includes all matters related to policy, production of goods, provided services, personnel, budgeting, fiscal, and procurement. This position is responsible for several enterprises statewide and institutions in the southern region. Additionally, this position directly manages enterprise staff in the Central Office and the southern region field Administrator/Lead Managers.

In addition to the Standard State Application (STD 678), all interested applicants must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). The SOQ is comprised of four factors that address how each candidate's education, training, experience, and skills qualify them for the position. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate's ability to present information clearly and concisely. The SOQ must be no longer than two (2) typed single-sided pages. This will be the only tool used for determining your final score and rank on the eligibility list for the position. The SOQ must include relevant examples of experience and be numbered in the order the following factors are presented: 
 

Factor 1: Describe your managerial experience providing direction and leadership on various program policies and procedures.

Factor 2: Describe your experience directly managing and providing oversight of a diverse operation, which shall include manufacturing and/or service programs.

Factor 3: Describe your experience developing strategies to improve and/or maintain the performance of programs, with successful results.

Factor 4: Describe your managerial/supervisory experience with administrative functions such as personnel, fiscal, and procurement.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
