Professional Requirements 

  • Education: 
    • Minimum - Bachelor's Degree
    • Educational Certification / licensing
  • Experience: Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong instructional, organizational, and classroom management skills.
    • Ability to integrate Biblical principles into all areas of teaching.
    • Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction.

Core Responsibilities

Planning and Preparation

  • Demonstrate an understanding of subject content and the biblical foundation of the curriculum.
  • Design coherent lesson plans that integrate Biblical principles and meet students’ developmental needs.
  • Use varied instructional strategies to establish a challenging, engaging learning environment.
  • Analyze data to monitor student learning and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop course scope and sequence.

Classroom Instruction

  • Inspire student learning, including Biblical worldview thinking, using effective instructional strategies.
  • Use clear, goal-oriented teaching methods, including anticipatory sets, guided practice, and independent practice.
  • Differentiate instruction to address individual student needs and foster critical thinking.
  • Incorporate various teaching resources and methods to enhance student engagement.

Student Achievement

  • Gather, analyze, and use data to measure student progress and guide instruction.
  • Provide timely, effective feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records to track and report student progress.
  • Use homework and assessments effectively for review, enrichment, or project work.

Learning Environment

  • Cultivate a Christ-centered, well-managed environment for learning.
  • Maintain a culture of respect, caring, and trust, emphasizing students’ self-worth in Christ.
  • Establish rules, routines, and procedures that promote responsibility and discipline.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive classroom environment.
  • Communicate with administration and families regarding disciplinary or academic concerns.

  • Model emotional stability and optimism, relying on Christ’s sovereignty.

Additional Duties

  • Prepare materials and information for substitute teachers.
  • Attend and participate in devotionals, faculty meetings, and committee assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.

Evaluation Criteria

Performance for the Teacher will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Personal/Spiritual:  Models Christ-like behavior and serves as a godly role model for students, colleagues, and parents.  Effectively integrates biblical principles into lesson planning and teaching, ensuring the curriculum reflects a Christ-centered perspective.
  • Instructional Effectiveness: Demonstrates effective lesson planning, execution, and integration of Biblical principles in teaching.
  • Student Achievement: Uses assessments and data to monitor progress and ensure measurable student growth.
  • Classroom Management: Maintains a positive, Christ-centered learning environment with clear expectations for student behavior.
  • Professional Development: Participates in professional growth opportunities and reflects on personal teaching effectiveness.
  • Communication and Relationships: Maintains clear, respectful communication with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
  • Adherence to Policies: Follows all school policies, procedures, and expectations with professionalism.
