Emissions Reporting Intern
- Candidates should have university-level general/organic chemistry and/or algebra, (environmental science or engineering courses are a plus), with excellent Excel spreadsheet skills and good attention to detail.
Schedule
- Approximate work availability from Feb through August 2025 (9-12 weeks). AWT will work to accommodate university schedules. The weekly schedule will be Monday - Thursday and working at least 15-20 hours per week (less during the school schedule if necessary but at a minimum of 10 hours)
Activities
- Responsible for the review and collection of data on new Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’), Greenhouse gases (GHG) and other environmental and sustainability reporting
- Review, interpret, and compile ink, coating and waste characteristics to calculate and reconcile net coatings usage within a template workbook within Microsoft Excel to generate emission calculations.
- Efficiently review safety data sheets, plant usage records, and waste shipments and working with the direction of plant staff and consultants to help generate monthly and annual emission totals
- Participate with managers and consultants to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations of Federal, State and local municipalities with respect to air, water and waste.
- Identify and participate in sustainability and conservation efforts to reduce costs and environmental impact of operations.
- Work with onsite personnel to ensure to improve reporting process.
