
Middle/High School Principal
MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
K-12 Montana Principal Certification.
Administration requirements as set by statute.
Five years experience in teaching and administration.
Ability to:
- apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program
- plan and implement program/training on school objectives and student needs
- establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community
- perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and school board policies
- demonstrative concise oral and written communication skills
NATURE OF POSITION
Designated by the Superintendent of Schools as the building administrator who is responsible for and accountable for planning, organizing, directing, staffing, and maintaining the daily operation of the building. Provide instructional leadership to staff including: curriculum planning, review, and implementation. Responsible for day-to-day building administration and the safety and welfare of students, staff, and activities. Ensures a safe, pleasant, and effective educational atmosphere; provides discipline as necessary, and enforces school policy. Able to exercise a high degree of initiative and professional, independent judgment in accomplishing the aims of education and in carrying out the policies and guidelines established by the Board of Trustees, the School District Superintendent, and the State of Montana. Skill in delegation of authority is essential.
