Overview
Utah Legal Services' mission is to protect the rights of the disadvantaged and people of limited means through legal representation, advocacy, and education.
Equal Justice Under Law is one of our nation’s most basic principles. However, economic realities often leave these promises unfulfilled. This is where we come in. Since our inception as a nonprofit in 1976, ULS has been committed to making equal justice a reality by providing free services, in civil legal matters. As a legal extern, you will work closely with our experienced attorneys and staff to gain hands-on experience in the field of public interest law. This externship provides an opportunity to develop practical and essential legal skills while supporting our mission to create a fairer, more equitable legal system.
IT Internship Job Summary
We are looking for an eager technology student to spend the summer gaining real-world experience in the day-to-day workings of the IT field. You will assist the IT Director with the technical support of staff, maintaining user hardware and software, maintenance and monitoring of both server and cloud environments and account creation and maintaining.
Key Responsibilities
- Support staff with technical assistance both remotely and in person Including
- Application account administration
- Email support
- Laptop hardware
- Printers
- Monitor technical support phones, emails and instant messages
- Assist IT Director with server maintenance and upkeep
- Monitor Office 365 environments for
- Assist with account creation, maintaining and removal
- Create technology guides for staff
Skills and abilities
- Ability to learn quickly and apply learning effectively
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer
- Solid base of PC hardware, Windows and basic networking knowledge
- Working knowledge of Microsoft product suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel etc.)
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
Education
- Enrolled in IT related degree or certification program

Hourly Rate: $20.00
Reports to: IT Director
Location: Hybrid - Salt Lake City, UT (In office 2 days a week)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Duration: May 2025 – August 2025
