Maintenance Worker

VILLAGE OF MINERVA PARK POSITION DESCRIPTION Maintenance worker -Part time and seasonal NATURE OF WORK Performs Village maintenance duties including equipment operation tasks; does related work as required, unsupervised. Ability to adjust schedule when weather permits. Example of Duties (May not include all duties performed.) Performs landscaping maintenance including but not limited to: mowing, trimming, cleaning, clearing, planting, watering, sweeping and painting. Cleans out trash cans around the Village including the Municipal building. Repairs and installs signage in the Village. Attends all assigned meetings and informs supervisors of suggestions and comments that could better the parks and recreation operation. Carries out any assigned responsibilities relating to the Village of Minerva Park as directed by supervisor. Cleans and maintains equipment and reports problems to supervisor. This position is required to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions. Waters flowers/plants when conditions require. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Valid Ohio driver's license Ability to lift 50 plus lbs. Ability to develop a working knowledge of the current methods, materials, practices and tools used in the exterior maintenance of parks and recreation facilities. Ability to learn applicable safety practices. Ability to exercise good judgment and function within broad guidelines. Ability to present ideas and recommendations in a clear, concise manner. Ability to work effectively with other Village personnel and the public. Ability to operate department truck/UTV and Lawncare equipment as well as other equipment needed to perform duties Salary Range: $12-18/hour
