
Field Engineer/Assistant Project Manager
Summary:
- Provides technical, quality control and administrative support to Superintendents and Project Managers on job sites. Works with field crew to achieve daily work objectives as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures that all OSHA safety regulations are followed and enforced
- Ensures all installation follows DGT Quality Control, Approved Submittals and Work Plans
- Performs field quality control tests or coordinates with local testing company.
- manages quality control and production records
- Researches and resolves drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors
- Runs small work crews (technical tasks like water testing, load testing, etc.)
- Performs field surveys and resolves geometry issues
- Prepares sketches and drawings to support construction work documentation
- Orders materials, writes purchase orders, and tracks inventory
- Assists in preparation of change order documentation and claim analysis
Requirements:
- Some Education/Understanding of Civil Engineering (Geotech/Structural focus), Construction Management or related degree fundamentals along with 2+ years of construction equipment/ techniques (i.e. drawings, specifications, building materials, surveying, design, or geotechnical work)
- Prior construction site work experience a plus.
- Basic knowledge of bidding and job costing procedures
- Ability to learn structural and geotechnical designs related to our techniques
- Basic understanding of concrete and concrete properties like slump and curing time
- Basic understanding of different soils (gravel, sand, silt, and clay).
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook, Teams, and Planner
- Converse effectively using both verbal and written communication.

Physical Requirements:
- Lift, carry, pull and push at least 60 pounds
- Travel per the company travel policy, often overnight and away from home for 1-3 week intervals
