This position serves as an Electronically Stored Information (ESI) Compliance Technician performing specialized professional and advisory functions on behalf of the mandated State of Illinois enterprise ESI fulfillment system for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, investigatory requests, subpoenas, and other related requests. 

In this role you will provide support and system analysis, ESI request fulfillment; create and maintain documentation of DoIT ESI departmental processes, training and metrics. 

In addition, you will assist with the Enterprise Vault and Discovery Accelerator System email journaling and archiving.

Essential Functions

⦁    Under general direction, serves as an Electronically Stored Information (ESI) Compliance Technician performing difficult and specialized professional work assignments for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT).
⦁    Assists with administrative support of the enterprise email vaulting system.
⦁    Collaborates with staff to create and maintain DoIT ESI departmental processes, training, and metrics documentation.
⦁    Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures. 
⦁    Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Systems Services or a related Information Technology field. 
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of professional experience fulfilling ESI requests related to and FOIA statutes and policies.
  • One (1) year of professional experience performing administrative support using email eDiscovery and email archiving software systems.
  • One (1) year of professional experience gathering data for analysis and metrics reporting using data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel.
  • One (1) year of professional experience configuring and managing email journaling, ensuring email retention and compliance policies are adhered to.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve.
  • Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgement in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
  • Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present information to others with clarity and precision.

Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
