
FP&A Analyst
The FP&A Analyst is responsible for performing analyses related to Shamin’s portfolio of hotels. This position requires a professional who is highly motivated, has a strong work ethic and is a team player. This individual should be analytical, deciphering financial and operational data to effectively capture, review and assess the data to support strategic decisions related to the hotel performance and operations. He/she should be able to identify problems and develop innovative solutions to further efforts toward continuous process improvements and maximize performance. In addition, should be well-organized, detail-oriented, and be able to perform a variety of tasks under time pressure. A strong Excel and PowerBI user is highly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Gather data, generate reports, interpret analysis and deliver reports and dashboards using complex data that turns into actionable steps to improve processes and results.
- Configuration, design, build out, and administration of a KPI dashboard
- Provide financial insights and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making by senior management and hospitality operations in the field.
- Analyze all types of data related to hospitality operations, including expenses, profitability, insights etc.
- Plan and communicate financial strategies for property labor management and conduct routine and ad-hoc analysis of labor metrics.
- Review and analyze brand initiatives/directives
- Work cross functionally with hospitality leaders in the field and support staff on corporate teams to identify data needs, turn data into tangible action and ultimately to position Shamin operations as best in class.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of data while maintaining robust data management processes.
- Assist with the forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Provides ad hoc support/reports as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) in finance, accounting, business or other related field
- Relevant work or internship experience
- Demonstrated partnering, influencing, and communication skills up and down the organizational structure to convey key elements in a concise and positive manner
- Proven computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
- Ability to thrive in an environment that is both strategic and creative, and requiring rapid learning, multitasking and prioritizing under tight deadlines.
