- New graduates or paralegal with under three years of experience
- Will assist with all aspects of trust and estate administration as well as implementing estate plans
- Paralegals are an integral part of our team in assisting the firm meet the needs and goals of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with attorneys on estate and trust administration matters
- Prepare and file documents pertaining to estate and trust administration, including probate
- Maintain banking ledgers and compile various asset lists using different financial sources
- Assist in preparation of Federal Estate Tax Returns (Form 706), Federal Gift Tax Returns (Form 709), and Federal Estate & Trust Income Tax Returns (Form 1041)
- Communicate with clients or other professionals regarding trust and estate matters.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with drafting estate planning and administration related documents
- Assist with filing of deeds
- Assist in organization and management of electronic and paper files
- Assist with preparing professionally designed presentations, including flow charts
- Proofreading and formatting documents
- Attending meetings, supervise the execution of documents, and prepare accurate meeting notes.
- Assist in conducting legal research and due diligence.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate
- Strong computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows and Office (especially Word and Excel)
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, often with competing deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Team player with a positive attitude and work ethic
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable interacting with clients and professionals in other businesses at all levels of an organization
- Highest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy and discretion, ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential and sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
- Sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Office, including the use of formulas and pivot tables in Excel
- Excellent knowledge of word processing, particularly proofreading and formatting
- Comfort or familiarity in dealing with financial and economic concepts
