Duties may include and are not limited to (tasks will vary based on substantive unit):

  • Conduct thorough and accurate legal research on various topics, including case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, including memoranda, briefs, contracts, and pleadings.
  • Support attorneys in case management tasks, including organizing files, reviewing discovery materials, and summarizing case details.
  • Assist in drafting correspondence to clients and other parties under the supervision of attorneys.
  • Support the team in compliance-related research and analysis, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling, maintaining case files, and managing legal databases.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed, contributing to the continuous improvement of our legal processes.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

The unit Manager directly supervises the Law Student Intern.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

The Law Student Intern does not exercise supervisory authority.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Strong legal research skills and familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited law school as a 3L.
