Actuarial Analyst
The Benefit Practice is seeking an actuarial analyst for our Stamford, CT, office, in a position that can provide the right candidate the opportunity to learn and grow within the organization. The candidate will work with our associates and consultants to design, value, administer and communicate with our clients regarding the employee retirement programs. The actuarial analyst will have a focus on defined benefit plans and will gain a working knowledge of defined contribution plans as well. The actuarial analyst will perform analysis and actuarial calculations for private-sector clients and deliver quality work effort to more senior personnel for detailed checking.
To fulfill this role, the Actuarial Analyst will:
- Request, gather, and review client data to assist in the preparation of actuarial valuations and participant statements and perform required financial analyses.
- Reconcile and review assets from appropriate financial institutions for plan valuations.
- Prepare government forms, including Form 5500 and schedules, PBGC Premium filings, and Form 1099-R
- Assist senior consultants in design proposals of retirement programs for prospective and current clients
Qualified candidates will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Ability to work in teams with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to achieving ASA/FSA and EA designations
- Having passed at least one SOA exam is a plus
