Lower School Classroom Teacher

LOWER SCHOOL CLASSROOM TEACHER

The Garden Christian Academy is seeking a qualified teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. GCA’s teachers are men and women who’ve answered a call to serve God by teaching, training, and forming the affections of their students. Each member of GCA’s faculty has earned at least a four-year degree from an accredited university and are continuously trained in GCA’s distinct educational philosophy and teaching methodology. GCA teachers are faithful Christians in full agreement with GCA’s Statement of Faith, who live GCA’s Core Values and who embrace and embody the school’s mission to multiply the peace and wellbeing of the city through Imago-Dei education.

Job Details

• Responsible for instructing a classroom of kindergarten age students using GCA’s classical curriculum
• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities. Assess and report to school administration and parents
• “Shepherd” students, leading to healthy spiritual formation
• Participate in professional development activities
• Relate well and communicate effectively with school staff and parents
• Participate in school activities and programs, as noted on the staff calendar

General Faculty Qualifications

• Supportive of the school’s mission to multiply God’s peace in Cleveland’s inner city by providing youth with a distinguished, Christ-centered education.
• Ability to effectively educate in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, and economically disadvantaged urban community.
• Desire to equip the children of the city with an academically rigorous, comprehensive, classical Christian education to prepare them to deal with the complex issues of living in this present society.
• Willingness to go above and beyond in building relationships with students and staff members.
• Minimum BS or BA
