The 2025 Summer Internship Program is designed for law students who are interested in experiencing the practice of law within a multifaceted and engaged corporate law department. It offers law students an opportunity to experience what it takes to work for and succeed, in an in-house position for a global pharma company.

Job Description
The Summer Internship Program offers law students valuable career development opportunities by providing client- and customer-focused assignments under the supervision of various members within our different business units. The Summer Interns will rotate across the different business units within GSK’s Legal and Compliance function.
The interns are expected to be based out of GSK’s offices in Durham, NC and Philadelphia, PA but may support multiple geographies.
The Summer internships are fully paid and are not expected to lead to full-time employment after completion of law school. In addition to gaining in-house experience, our program provides learning opportunities in different areas of the law relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. Past activities have included direct exposure with clients and outside counsel, networking opportunities, seminars conducted by senior management, town hall participation, career development programs, tours of our manufacturing facilities, and an opportunity to present to our senior leadership team.
The 2025 Summer Internship program will:
- Introduce law students to the varied and complex legal issues encountered in a corporate legal setting
- Enable law students to take an active role advising corporate stakeholders on significant legal issues
- Be in-person at the Durham, NC or Philadelphia, PA worksite
- Match students with mentors at GSK who can provide ongoing guidance on professional development throughout their academic and professional careers
- The six-week program typically runs between May 15 and August 15. These dates are flexible and are subject to change, year to year, depending on GSK’s needs and the candidate’s schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
- GSK is seeking qualified law students who are interested in obtaining a unique experience within a world-class corporate law department.
How to Apply
1L or 2L Students interested in applying must apply through their appropriate Law school liaison, for forwarding to GSK by February 13th, 2025. Applicants must attach a single PDF document with the applicant’s name as the title, to their application.
The combined PDF must include the below items in the following order:
- A current resume (including current law school GPA, if available); and
- A cover letter containing the following information:
- Name of Law School and Expected Graduation Year.
- A list of the student’s top 3 practice areas of interest.
- A statement about why the student is an excellent candidate for the program and specifically how the student would contribute to the program.
- A statement of how the student’s life experiences have informed their views on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Students should have excellent academic credentials and communication skills. Applicants should also possess outstanding interpersonal skills, due to the high level of contact with clients and leaders across the organization.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.

Benefits
- While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
- GSK Interns and Co-ops are offered a competitive hourly pay rate and benefits. Please note, benefits eligibility determined the month following date of hire.
This job posting is for a temporary role as an employee of Atrium on assignment at GSK. The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on several factors, including skills, competencies, experience, educational degree obtained, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law.
In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirement.
Pay Rate Range: $21/hr to $40/hr
