Position Summary

 

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our dynamic team at Cambrian. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the wastewater management and renewable energy sectors. You will play a key role in expanding our market presence, building client relationships, and contributing to our mission of delivering sustainable solutions for a better future. The ideal candidate will be in the early stages of their career, dynamic, and willing to put in the hard work to achieve measurable performance.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Responsible for generating new business opportunities by qualifying leads and prospecting through new and existing business accounts to engage with potential buyers. 
  • Identify and research potential clients and market trends in the wastewater and renewable energy industries.
  • Generate leads through networking, cold-calling, attending industry events, and utilizing online platforms.
  • Conduct thorough research to pinpoint high-potential leads and opportunities within the market. 
  • Maintain a detailed database of leads, opportunities, and client interactions using CRM software. 
  • Conduct outreach to prospective clients to introduce our services and solutions, tailoring your approach to meet their specific needs.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and strategies to generate interest and visibility in the market.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with prospective clients to present our offerings and demonstrate how we can help them achieve their sustainability goals.
  • Work closely with the technical and engineering teams to understand our services and ensure client needs are met.
  • Attend industry conferences and networking events to build relationships and promote our company’s capabilities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes affecting wastewater and renewable energy.
  • Be measured on performance weekly, including tracking weekly calls, targets identified, and leads fielded.

 

Position Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably in the wastewater or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, renewable energy technologies (such as solar, wind, or bioenergy), and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to building client relationships.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
