Director of Facilities & Security
Being a Director of Facilities & Security directs, manages, and coordinates all aspects of the Flagship location, including maintenance, safety and security, budgeting, grant compliance, and facility planning. This role also supports the Survivor Empowerment Hubs in the community, ensuring all locations are warm, welcoming, and a space for healing.

The Director contributes to long-term planning and leads a team to meet the organization’s current and future needs while embodying leadership practices of effective management, authentic collaboration, financial sustainability, responsive operations, growth mindset, and team support.
Your Schedule:
- Full Time
- Monday - Friday from 9am-6pm or 8am-5pm (On-Call nights and weekends will be occasionally required)
- Work Model: 100% Onsite
- Local Travel: 25%

- Annual Compensation: $115k

Qualifications
The Requirements We are Seeking:
- Bachelor’s degree or an additional four years of relevant work experience in lieu of education.
- A minimum of five years of facility/operations management experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience leading a team with direct reports.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Professional English
- You have a valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation
What you Deliver in this role:
Facilities and Vendor Management
- You will oversee, develop, implement, and manage the maintenance of buildings, grounds, mechanical and electrical, housekeeping, supply purchases, utilities, and safety & security systems.
- You will serve as the central point of contact in the development of plans for organizing long-term and short-term maintenance projects and associated budgets.
- You will lead all Flagship facilities projects, collaborating with executive leadership on decisions related to contracts and contractors.
- You will develop and oversee vendor contracts to ensure cost-effective and high-quality services (e.g., cleaning, pest control).
- You will prepare, negotiate, and administer service contracts in compliance with the HAWC policies and federal regulations (CFR § 200.319 - § 200.327).
- You will develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and respond promptly to
emergencies in collaboration with appropriate ELT members. • Maintain records of equipment warranties, contracts, and permits, including copiers, air conditioners, and fire extinguishers. - You will oversee inspections (fire, AHERA, elevator, etc.), work orders, and daily maintenance tasks to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion.
- You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards, including OSHA, City, and State Building, Health, and Fire Codes
- You will document and update policies and procedures for the Flagship campus and Hubs
- You will manage permitting and inspections for all HAWC locations.
- You will optimize space planning to meet organizational needs, assess requirements, plan layouts, and recommend improvements.
- You will implement strategies to enhance campus security, parking, and resource scheduling.
- You will collaborate with the Director of Capital Projects on construction and renovation efforts.
- You will lead office moves, relocations, and reconfigurations as required.
Safety & Security
- You will ensure facility safety and physical ADA compliance in collaboration with Human Resources at Flagship and Hub locations.
- You will work with the Hubs operations team to communicate safety and security protocols to staff.
- You will implement and monitor the risk management plan for the Flagship Campus.
- You will oversee the safety and upkeep of buildings, grounds, furnishings, and equipment.
- You will enforce the building emergency management plan per the Operations Manual.
- You will develop and enforce safety policies and provide relevant training.
- You will collaborate with ELT to deliver safety training programs for staff.
- You will maintain clear communication with staff to ensure facility cleanliness and safety in accordance with applicable codes.
Centralized Office & Operations Administration
- You will direct office operations across all HAWC locations, including mail, equipment, and supplies.
- You will research and implement improvements to campus
Leadership
- You will manage housekeeping, landscaping, and maintenance teams effectively.
- You will serve on the Senior Leadership Team and Emergency Response Team.
- You will develop and manage the Facilities and Security budget, coordinating with program and accounting colleagues.
- You will ensure accurate expense documentation and proper allocation of grant-eligible costs.
- You will recruit, train, and retain qualified staff, clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- You will mentor and coach staff, conduct timely performance reviews, manage timesheets, and apply corrective action as needed.
- You will drive revenue through effective grant management and strategic philanthropic activities.
- You will manage expenses to stay within budget parameters.
- You will lead departments to achieve annual organizational goals.
- You will ensure role clarity and effective information management for colleagues and direct reports.
- You will foster an understanding among team members of their role in supporting HAWC’s mission.
- Other duties/projects may be assigned.
