Dallas City Attorney – General Counsel
The Dallas City Attorney’s Office is seeking an energetic, self-motivated paralegal for the General Counsel Division. The successful candidate will assist assistant city attorneys with all aspects of legal work with an emphasis on legal research, drafting contracts and memos, and economic development and housing issues.
A successful candidate should, at minimum, have a paralegal certificate and be: (1) proficient in Westlaw Next and Lexis; (2) proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Acrobat Professional and have experience using case management software; (3) proficient in the drafting of legal memoranda, correspondence, and other written documents; (4) possess excellent personal interaction skills with the ability to work cooperatively with other employees, clients, and members of the public; (5) knowledgeable of legal terminology, principles, procedures, and research methods; and (6) a self-starter, organized, and able to work independently, where necessary, in order to complete a project.
Salary is commensurate with experience. The city's comprehensive benefits package comes with the position. This position is exempt from the provisions applicable to civil service, pursuant to Chapter XVI, Section 9 of the Dallas City Charter.
