Junior Financial Analyst

Norlee Group is looking for a highly motivated Junior Financial Analyst to join our team. The Junior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the finance team by analyzing financial data, preparing insightful reports, and contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical individual to develop their financial expertise, identify trends and variances, and help drive informed business decisions within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

**This is an in-office position, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.  MUST reside in the Jacksonville, FL area to be considered**

Position Summary:

The Junior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the finance team by analyzing financial data, preparing insightful reports, and contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical individual to develop their financial expertise, identify trends and variances, and help drive informed business decisions within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Review monthly financial actuals against budgeted figures and identify variances.
  • Analyze trial balance details to identify and correct potential posting errors.
  • Support month-end close processes by ensuring accurate account reconciliations.
  • Track and analyze key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to support business goals.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all financial documents.
  • Work closely with various departments to gather relevant financial data.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis projects.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, including AR and AP, to ensure accurate weekly cash flow projections.

Physical Requirements:

  • The individual is frequently required to sit at a desk and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse to enter or retrieve data and to answer or make telephone calls. Standing or bending may be required at time through the course of the workday
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in finance, data analysis, economics, math, or engineering.

Basic knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles.

Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Familiarity with reporting and data analysis tools (Tableau, Power BI and SQL are a plus).

Strong business analytical abilities and attention to detail.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Teamwork and collaborative skills.

2.5 GPA or above

Mathematical Skills
Ability to read, research, understand and report on business solutions and service contracts.
Certificates, Licenses and Registration

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

 Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community Ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical people.
