REPORTS TO: Senior Communications Manager, SITC
DIRECT REPORTS: None                                                    
EMPLOYEE STATUS: Non-Exempt (Minimum 37.5 hours/week)


GENERAL SUMMARY (Minimum 37.5 hours/week):

The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) is a non-profit medical professional society of influential scientists, academicians, researchers, clinicians, government representatives, and industry leaders from around the world dedicated to improving cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science and application of cancer immunotherapy. Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, this position supports the mission of the society by assisting with marketing and communications, membership recruitment and retention, maintaining accurate membership records and reports via the Society’s database processing of memberships and dues, distribution of member materials, and other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aids in the execution of marketing and communications plans aimed at meeting audience generation, and membership recruitment goals.
  • Coordinates the production of print and digital promotional collateral materials.
  • Assist the Sr. Communications Manager in the coordination of communications including keeping a schedule of emails, proofreading outgoing messages and formatting messages.
  • Provide first-line information for general society inquiries via phone and departments’ email accounts
  • Coordinate the processing of new member applications including follow-up communications.
  • Order and maintain inventory of society marketing materials, exhibiting supplies and giveaways.
  • Assist the Sr. Communications Manager with timely and accurate content updates of the society website (including the website calendar of events) and social media as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for exhibiting efforts as needed.
  • General administrative support of membership initiatives as needed including scheduling of teleconferences, taking meeting minutes, and tracking action items and project timelines.
  • Manage the monthly mailing of new member packages, and other mailing projects upon request.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Education - Bachelor’s Degree; communications, marketing or related field preferred.
  • Qualifications – Outstanding interpersonal, organizational and communications skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and timelines. Acute attention to detail and a high accuracy on outputs. Able to work successfully in a hybrid work environment.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with databases such as iMIS and/or MS Access, social media platforms, website platforms (Higher Logic) email marketing platforms (Real Magnet) and other editing tools a plus.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some evening and weekend work as needed
  • Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds

 

*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
