Communications Intern
Purpose: To further PeaceMaker Minnesota communications with donors, schools, volunteers and the broader community. Help prepare:
• Grow our social media reach and impact
• Paper and electronic newsletters
• Press releases
• Event promotions
• Website updates
• On-line contribution pages and event registration information
Responsibilities:
• Work with PeaceMaker Minnesota staff and volunteers in preparing the items listed above
• Write articles for the PeaceMaker Minnesota paper website, newsletter and e-newsletter
• Help format and design the paper and e-newsletter
• Develop press releases and other communications to promote PeaceMaker Minnesota events
Timeline, Hours, Pay
The internship can begin at any time. A minimum commitment of 50 total hours, 5 hours a week, is preferred. Total compensation for one calendar year would be $500.00.
Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
• Ability to meet at the PeaceMaker Minnesota once a week
• A desire to develop writing, communication, public relations and community building skills.
