Not a realtor. A Realty Specialist! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District Real Estate division is engaged in a wide range of federal real estate services for civil and military programs. In this role, you will participate in dynamic planning projects, land management activities for civil and military projects, negotiate with the public for government leased space, and make valuable contributions in support of our armed forces and local communities. This team directly contributes to the support of our national defense and the safety of our local communities and protection of the environment.
Realty specialists acquire, manage, and dispose of property relating to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other Federal entities. Realty specialists oversee and perform global property negotiations with landowners to acquire and upgrade facilities; advise on cost and asset information for projects; and ensure transactions are executed in accordance with real estate policies and procedures. USACE realty programs include the Joint Facilities Recruiting Program, the Homeowners Assistance Program, acquisitions and disposal, and the Defense National Relocation Program.
Duties
- Perform the full range of realty transactions.
- Carries out assigned projects involving the civil works and military real estate program within the District.
- Manages government-owned real properties (including granting out grants and performing inspections).
- Negotiates cases involving coordinating with several governmental agencies
- Coordinates and assembles Site Selection Team for acquisition of U.S. Army Reserve Centers.
- Negotiates out leases with former owners and tenants.
- Makes compliance inspections of real property under the control of the Corps of Engineers and as necessary to assure compliance at military installations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
