Director of Philanthropy

Job Overview:

The Director of Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the organization’s fundraising strategy. This nationwide nonprofit position requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about philanthropy and has a proven track record in nonprofit management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cultivating relationships with donors, overseeing fundraising campaigns, and enhancing the organization's public image through effective communication and marketing strategies.

 

Duties:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors while identifying and engaging new prospects.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Manage digital marketing initiatives, including email marketing campaigns and podcast recordings.
  • Utilize CRM for tracking donations, managing donor information, and analyzing fundraising data.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance public relations efforts and promote philanthropic initiatives.
  • Collect data on fundraising effectiveness to inform future strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Manage commercial co-venturer contracts.
  • Work with ad agency and magazines for content development and placement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in nonprofit management or a related field, with a focus on fundraising.
  • Excellent public relations skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person, on air, and through writing.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A passion for philanthropy and a commitment to advancing the mission of the organization.
  • Travel 5-7 times/year.

 
Pay based on experience. Will be a full-time, salaried position.
