Church Creative Summer Internship

Ascent Creative exists to create content for His glory, His House, and His people. We do this through graphics, video, photography, web design, and social media. We create content for His glory by encouraging people to pursue Jesus more in their personal walks of faith. We create content for His House by letting our church know of the special days going on in and around Ascent Church. Finally, we create for His people by sharing stories of what God is doing through our teams, volunteers, and community. 

Ascent Church is honored to have the opportunity to invest in the lives of young adults who are pursuing full-time ministry through our internship program. During their internship, our goal is to help prepare and equip interns for ministry by serving alongside the Leadership Team at our church in order to understand the inner workings of our ministries. While getting a glimpse of other ministries and what is happening at our church as a whole, our ultimate goal is to provide opportunities for the Creative Intern to take ownership in our department by providing feedback, overseeing projects and events, personally investing in the creative team, and implementing new ideas.

While Ascent certainly benefits from anyone who interns with us, our prayer for everyone who participates in this internship is that you would learn more about and build:

• The character required to lead and equip others
• The discipline necessary to oversee a growing and thriving Ministry
• The leadership skills that are needed to effectively oversee a Creative Ministry
• The servant heart to come alongside people and meet them exactly where they are

Responsibilities:

• Help add to, manage, and schedule social content on Ascent and Pastor Instagram accounts
• Coordinate with Creative Team to complete needed assets for Sundays, website, and social media
• Capture and highlight church events, ministry stories, and key initiatives through creative content
• Produce high-quality posts that drive engagement and tell compelling stories
• Brainstorm and implement fresh ideas to elevate Ascent Church’s digital presence and church engagement
• Work with Communications Coordinator to create a content calendar that aligns with church-wide initiatives and strategic goals
• Take part in weekly meetings including 1:1 with Staff Mentor, Staff Chapel, and Creative 
• Serve as part of Ascent Creative Lead team and assist with leading weekly meetings
• Invest regularly in the creative volunteer team through planned meetings and team wide events
• Participate in Sunday programming at capacity that is determined together with Mentor
• All other tasks as assigned 

How You Win:

Our Creative Intern will win by completing the program with a deeper understanding of working in creative ministry, a strong portfolio showcasing their work, and strengthened leadership skills. They will leave feeling more equipped and empowered to step confidently into the calling God has placed on their lives.
