Content and Social Media Marketing Summer Intern

Job Summary:

The Summer Content and Social Media Marketing Associate is responsible for supporting the Marketing team in relation to ongoing initiatives. By the end of the internship period, we expect the Summer Content and Social Media Marketing Associate to perform routine marketing functions and complete special projects, as requested by the Marketing team. The Summer Content and Social Media Marketing Associate will learn skills associated with digital marketing, retail marketing, eCommerce/omnichannel strategy, and customer engagement principles.

 

Responsibilities:

Content Responsibilities:

  • Maintains Heinen’s Google Business Profiles via weekly postings and management of customer reviews. 
  • Manages online event promotions and seasonal store updates.
  • Sources, edits, and formats Heinen’s online content. 
  • Maintains and updates key pages on Heinen’s website and SharePoint.
  • Assists with landing page creation to support programs and campaigns.
  • Edits and formats Heinen’s blog post content and digital image assets on heinens.com for promotion across various digital platforms. 

Social Media Responsibilities:

  • Crafts engaging copy for Heinen’s social media posts.
  • Edits and formats visual assets within Heinen’s social media scheduling platform. 
  • Designs Heinen’s promotional graphics for paid and organic social media.
  • Assists with on-site photography and video projects. 
     

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ad hoc digital marketing work, as needed. 
  • Assists with market and industry research projects, when needed.
  • Attends company functions and networking opportunities as made available.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CMS tools (e.g., WordPress, SharePoint) and social media platforms; familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop).
  • Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Basic photography, video editing, and SEO knowledge are a plus.
