Kentucky Equine Management Internship Fall 2025 Internship
The Kentucky Equine Management Internship (KEMI) is a non-profit corporation that coordinates internships for college students or recent college graduates on Thoroughbred horse farms in the Lexington, Kentucky area. These 20-22 week internships include housing and and hourly wage and focus on either the Spring Breeding Season or the Fall Sales, Marketing & Early Training Season.
Applicants should have at least basic horse-handling skills and be prepared to work a full-time (6 day a week job/8+ hours a day) job working with horses. This is a hands-on internship which includes routine barn chores including feeding, turning horses in & out, grooming, cleaning stalls, etc. You do not need to know how to ride to participate. This is not a riding position. Fall interns prepare yearlings for the monthly auctions. There is some work with broodmares and weanlings as well.
We are happy to answer any questions about the internship: info@kemi.org
