We are hiring insurance customer service agents to support inbound customer service, help desk, and back-office processing functions. In this role, you will provide full lifecycle customer service and sales support, helping customers understand their coverage options and assisting them in selecting the right products, services, and solutions to meet their financial needs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

WHAT DOES SOMEONE IN THIS ROLE ACTUALLY DO?

This position involves interacting customers each week, providing support, selling new products and services, and ensuring a best-in-class customer experience. You will need to be a confident, fully engaged team player, dedicated to maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude at work each day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary customer service contact for inbound customer interactions.
  • Utilize proper procedures and documented knowledge articles to achieve first contact resolution and assist with policyholder retention.
  • Document business and customer interaction information accurately.
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer interactions and learn about their current and future needs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service by acquiring new customers and maintaining service levels, while also seeking multi-lining opportunities with existing accounts.
  • Use sales, marketing, and influence skills to assist with the acquisition and retention of policyholders.
  • Escalate problems or inquiries when necessary.
  • Use multiple applications to gather necessary information and communicate with business partners regarding messages, inquiries, and claims.
  • Apply knowledge from training and the knowledge base to accurately respond to customer questions and sell appropriate products and services.
  • Utilize systems and technology to manage accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements surrounding confidential and personal information.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions, reviewing all new material to stay up-to-date on program knowledge, systems, and processes.
  • Adhere to attendance and work schedule requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to type swiftly and accurately (20+ words per minute).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Basic understanding of the Windows operating system.
  • Highly reliable, with the ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • An aptitude for conflict resolution, problem-solving, and negotiation.
  • Customer-service oriented (empathetic, responsive, patient, and conscientious).
  • Ability to multitask, stay focused, and manage your time effectively.
  • Strong team orientation and customer focus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with both your team and customers.
  • Demonstrates exceptional follow-through and attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time while maintaining a high standard of quality throughout each project.

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience in customer service, technical support, inside sales, back-office, chat, or administrative roles.
  • Property and Casualty license is preferred but not required.
