Video Production Spring/Summer Intern - Camera Operation & Lighting
Overview:
Parralux is a full service video production company seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is eager to get on-set experience with camera operation, lighting, and general grip and electric equipment. Candidates should have a creative eye and possess a blend of creativity and technical expertise. This internship provides a hands-on learning experience, allowing you to work closely with our seasoned professionals in a dynamic and collaborative setting. Qualifications:
This internship is open to college sophomores through seniors with varying levels of experience. While the internship is held on-site at Parralux (Exton, PA), you’ll have the opportunity to work on shoots outside of the office (on-location). Days/Hours are negotiated based on your availability and required credits. Ideal candidates are creative, proactive, enthusiastic self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Ideal Candidates Know How To:
- Set up and operate cameras, ensuring optimal framing, focus, and exposure
- Monitor camera battery levels, memory cards, and other essential components to ensure uninterrupted filming sessions
- Properly handle and organize camera equipment, including lenses, tripods, c-stands, and accessories, ensuring they are properly maintained and ready for use
- Bonus points if you also know you’re way around Premiere Pro and can do basic editing
What You’ll Learn:
- Learn about day-to-day operations at a video production company
- Participate in pre-production meetings to understand shot lists, storyboards, and creative concepts
- Coordinate with the production team to schedule/prioritize filming locations, scenes, and equipment needs
- Collaborate with the director to capture high-quality footage that aligns with the project's vision and requirements
- Learn from experienced camera operators and cinematographers, absorbing valuable insights and techniques to improve your skills and proficiency
- Assist with lighting setups to achieve desired effects and enhance the visual quality of the footage
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues that may arise during filming, working quickly to find solutions and minimize disruptions
- Review and backup footage during shoots to ensure data integrity and facilitate post-production processes
- Produce original video and photo content for our social media channels
