Position Objective

 

This sourcing position is charged with a broad range of responsibilities that include research into assigned and new categories – developing an expertise in those categories and securing best pricing and terms available in those categories through RFQs, bids and negotiations while meeting turn times, quality and production expectations each month.

 

Position Responsibilities

 

Category Template Development

Ensure that the category template is continuously updated to speed the timely completion of client recommendations and keep data entry cost to a minimum.

 

Certified Supplier Development

Using standard category templates, source and develop certified suppliers that will expedite solution development and bring maximum value and least total cost to clients.

 

New Category Development

Research new expense categories that can be deployed within the client base.

 

Sourcing Production

Sourcing Production – Meet expectations for monthly production, turn time and quality expectations for sourcing recommendations.

 

Coordination

Work closely with the Client Service team members to ensure they understand the elements of each recommendation and implementation requirements.

 

Teamwork

Work with Client Services team members to ensure that all projects are submitted completely and will not result in pending or delayed project recommendations and analyses.

 

Supplier Usage Reports

Work with Client Service Program Managers (PMs) and suppliers to obtain usage reports for complex categories, to increase accuracy and minimize data entry time and cost.

 

Ascertain Current Pricing

Ascertain current price paid if available. If not, proceed to secure a minimum of three quotes.

 

Supplier Relationships

Assist in the development of qualified suppliers to meet frequently procured categories and develop certified suppliers.

 

Requests for Quotes (RFQ's)

Quoting should be accomplished via phone and/or internet with the objective of securing valid quotes within one week of assignment.

 

Negotiation

Upon receipt of all RFQ’s, analyze the item detail and negotiate best pricing at the item level to match up against best pricing obtained for those items historically.

 

Analysis

Quotes will be built into our standard template analysis that compares pricing, features and stated business requirements.

 

Recommendation

Once the analysis is complete, you will be expected to provide a narrative explanation of the recommendation and options the client should consider. This shall be packaged and input into our QuickBase system.

 

Present Recommendations

Be prepared to present category recommendations to client requestor and address any concerns or issues.

 

Communication

All recommendations will be documented in accordance with StrategicSource processes. Ensure that all interactions/communications between Sourcing, Client Services and Corporate are always professional and customer centric.

As the company grows and evolves other responsibilities may become part of the role but are not currently defined.
