About the Role 

*We are building a resume pool for Instructional Leader positions that may become available for the 2025-2026 school year, depending on school needs. As an instructional leader, you will guide curriculum implementation, support teacher development, analyze student achievement data, and help drive academic excellence across grade levels. Instructional leadership roles are critical to ensuring that Liberty Grove Schools carries out our vision and mission centered on removing labels and redefining student success to ensure a community of academic excellence that sparks innovation and creates opportunity. We encourage qualified educators to submit their applications on a rolling basis. Selected candidates will be contacted as positions become available. 

 

DEPENDING ON THE ROLE, ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Take the lead on academics for one or more grade levels, fostering an inclusive learning environment that ensures the success of all students. This includes managing the master schedule and curriculum alignment to support students to exceed grade level academic standards. 
  • Oversee student progress toward promotion, credit recovery opportunities, and promotion / retention administration for one or more grade levels. 
  • Support the implementation of clear, efficient school-wide assessment systems to monitor and track student progress for one or more grade levels.
  • Support timely and accurate academic reporting for state and district requirements for one or more grade levels.
  • Implement the schoolwide system of classroom observation and feedback. The system is driven by a belief in the effectiveness of practice and collaboration as a means to guide staff, and it includes goal setting, targeted observation practices, and timely, meaningful feedback to drive improvement.
  • Analyze school and grade level performance data to identify strengths and areas of growth. Support the instructional team to modify instruction, in support of student well being and academic achievement. Foster a culture of continuous improvement among the staff.
  • Build and sustain a positive school culture that promotes high academic and behavioral expectations for students. 
  • Foster a supportive, collaborative environment where staff feel empowered and students are engaged.
  • Support teachers of Multilingual Learners to provide strong instruction and to support language acquisition and academic achievement for students who are linguistically diverse, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations for academic and operational standards/requirements. 
  • Foster strong relationships with parents, guardians, and the broader community to support student success.
  • Work closely with district administrators, support staff, and external partners to align resources and initiatives with the school’s vision.
  • Communicate school goals, progress, and initiatives effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Help recruit and retain quality teaching and non-teaching staff. 
  • Demonstrate a self reflective mindset of continual growth, and be receptive to feedback from colleagues to improve practice.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Education Administration or related field strongly preferred for principals.
  • For principals: 2 or more years of school leadership with demonstrated exemplary results in an urban charter school setting.  
  • 3-5 years of successful classroom experience with demonstrated exemplary results within an urban charter school setting. 
  • Demonstrated success managing staff through planning, motivating, rewarding, and providing targeted feedback and professional development.  
  • A belief in the effectiveness of practice and collaboration as a means to guide staff.
  • A passion for educational excellence, data-driven instruction, and a personal commitment to accountability for results.  
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment systems.
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and educational technology.
  • Experience with Multilingual Learning programs and federal/state compliance related to English Language Learners (ELL) preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with implementing effective instructional and behavioral methods for educating youth from diverse backgrounds.
