Duration: February 10, 2025 - June 15, 2025 (Spring 2025 semester)
Stipend: $1,000 (paid upon completion of the internship on June 15, 2025)
Job Description:
EdTechQuity (ETQ) is seeking a dedicated and creative Social Media Intern to support our mission of empowering underserved communities through education. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media strategy, content creation, and digital marketing while contributing to a meaningful cause. The position is open to students pursuing education-related internships that meet their personal and institution's academic or experiential learning requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, manage, and maintain social media accounts, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook/Meta, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and WhatsApp, for ETQ and ETQ partners.
- Develop and execute a weekly content calendar with engaging posts tailored to each platform.
- Produce high-quality, culturally relevant, and visually appealing content, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and audience interactions professionally and promptly.
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics, providing reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with ETQ staff and partners to align content with organizational goals and initiatives.
- Stay informed about current trends in social media and apply innovative strategies to enhance ETQ’s digital presence.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current student, eligible for an educational internship in alignment with their academic or institutional requirements. Ca Community College students are highly encouraged to apply.
- Must have access to laptop, webcam, microphone, and high-speed internet.
- Be self-driven and have communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Must have the ability to work independently & collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook/Meta, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and WhatsApp.
- Strong creative and communication skills, with a focus on storytelling and audience engagement.
- Experience with graphic design, video editing, or social media tools is a plus.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Highly desirable skills (not mandatory):
- Be bilingual - English/Spanish
- Experience using Google Suites (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.) and similar platforms for various tasks related to content creation.
Educational Internship Requirements:
- The position is designed to meet educational internship standards and can qualify for academic credit if approved by the candidate’s institution (i.e. work experience credit).
- Candidates must confirm and fulfill any requirements needed for their school to receive credit from their school. This is not-required for candidates not-interested in receiving credit from their school.
